Opera Under the Stars

Join us on Saturday, November 7th at 7:00pm at the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater for this musical presentation of Die Fledermaus with the Coachella Valley Symphony featuring the Palm Springs Opera Guild.

This concert features the best of Strauss’ sparkling operetta Die Fledermaus (The Bat). With six high-caliber soloists and full orchestra, the concert will open the season with high comedy and high notes!!

This dazzling comedy of mistaken identities, playful revenge, secret disguises, and romantic mischief, unfolds as friends and lovers become entangled during an unforgettable evening at a glamorous Viennese ball.

Filled with wit, champagne-fueled revelry, and unexpected twists, the operetta, composed by Johann Strauss II to a German libretto by Karl Haffner and Richard Genée, premiered in Vienna in 1874.

It celebrates the joy of laughter while reminding us that forgiveness is often the happiest ending of all. This lighthearted concert presents the glorious music of Die Fledermaus, sung by exceptional vocalists from the Palm Springs Opera Guild in concert with the Coachella Valley Symphony. Under the direction of John Mario DiCostanzo, audiences are always thrilled with its irresistible melodies, dazzling waltzes, and infectious spirit brought to life in a delightfully entertaining musical experience.

Doors open at 6:00pm. Seating is first come first served.

Complimentary valet service available in the West parking lot.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase. No outside food or beverage allowed.

Only service dogs allowed.

Remaining Concerts for our 2026-2027 Season

“The Coachella Symphony is excited to announce the dates and themes of our 2026-2027 season as part of our ongoing strategic partnership with the City of Rancho Mirage. The Symphony will be performing all of our concerts at the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater, which will all continue to be under the skillful hands of music director and conductor, John Mario,” Dr. Lisa Lindley, CEO Coachella Valley Symphony.

Beginning with the 2026–2027 season, the City of Rancho Mirage will introduce ticketed admission for concerts at the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater. Ticket proceeds will be shared between the City and the Coachella Valley Symphony, providing an additional source of support for our performances and community programs. We remain committed to keeping our concerts affordable and accessible to the community.

The 2026-2027 season is part of the Coachella Valley Symphony’s strategic partnership with the City of Rancho Mirage will be available to everyone in the community, courtesy of the City of Rancho Mirage.
