Ms. Somers has served on the Board of Directors with the Symphony for many years. She served as Secretary and Vice President prior to being elected President. She was also Secretary and President of the CVS League.
Ms. Somers has been instrumental in keeping violin teachers in the three school districts in the Valley as part of our Beginning Strings Conservatory. She takes pride in the knowledge that she is helping children achieve education and an artistic means to express themselves.
Dee enjoyed a long and varied career at Warner Bros. Studios with her last title being the Director of Facilities. She retired in 2000 after 33 years of service.

In addition to CVS, Ms. Somers has served on the boards of The Valley Partnership, the Coachella Valley Arts Alliance, and Odyssey (an after-school writing program).
She has been president of International Facility Managers Association and her homeowners’ association; she is a member of Women Leaders Forum.

She was Volunteer of the Year in 2004 for her time serving at the Joslyn Senior Center.
Dee resides in Rancho Mirage. She enjoys any form of live theater and music.
